Do You Think River Phoenix Would Still Be Alive if He Hadn’t Died on That Dreadful Night?
Question by Evelyn: Do you think River Phoenix would still be alive if he hadn’t died on that dreadful night?
Do you think he would’ve stopped using drugs, or that he’d eventurally overdose again and die?
I just can’t stop wondering. God, I wish he’d survived. He would’ve made great music and films.

Well of course he would still be alive if he hadn’t died, lol.
No, but seriously I definitely think he would of stopped using drugs. He used drugs in a “binge” fashion anyways (where he would do a lot, then not do any for a while, then do a lot again etc.) He wasn’t even back doing drugs when he went to Viper Room, but I guess the whole “scene” (night club, partying etc.) influenced his decision. I wish it hadn’t been that way though. It’s really unfair because so many others that lacked his humility and kindness have been given many chances, do drugs all their life (erm, Chalie Sheen), but are still living. But he wasn’t so fortunate. I wish he was alive too.
Honestly I can’t think of any celebrity that was (or is) as anti-Hollywood as him. They all lack his talent, intellect and genuine compassion. He didn’t strive for attention like every other Hollywood “star” does. Now, when people think of “River Phoenix” they think “Oh, that boy that ODed outside a night club.” Instead that should remember his love for animals, knowledge on global warming, and activism with the rain forest issue (and so many other acts of humanitarianism) It’s really unfortunate that it ended up this way…
