Country music singer Mindy McCready has died at age 37, according to multiple reports. The singer died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot on Sunday, the best friend of the singer told Dateline correspondent Andrea Canning. Her body was found in Heber Springs, Ark., according to a E! Online source. McCready’s boyfriend, musician David Wilson, was found dead in January. Earlier this month, McCready was ordered to be committed to a treatment facility. McCready had two children, sons Zander and Zayne. The troubled star had been struggling following the sudden death of her boyfriend, 34-year-old David Wilson, in Jan. 2013. Although she claimed she had nothing to do with Wilson’s passing. “Since boyfriend (David Wilson) shot himself she has been in bed for 3 wks,” her father said in court documents earlier this month. “Sleeps all day. Drinks all night and is taking Rx drugs. Not bathing or even helping take care of her 2 children.” No details have been released on her death, but the Daily News is calling it a reported suicide.
